I think it is the same in Britain as it is in the USA as it is in the world. The generation up until Millenials were born into racism. Some of them knew it and others knew it as a way of life. Millenials, while not exempt from it, were the first generation to shift how different people act together in a society. Hence the reason there is so much millenial bashing - they are not their parents.
