I am a liberal blue living in a blistering red county just outside of NYC. I can honestly say that after the past election I am not sure blue dogs are deserving of holding office. We barely turn out to vote! Sure we are the majority but getting off our asses to do something simple like pull a lever seems to be so above many voters. When you flip that to the red side they are engaged and active. And they vote. While the most prized things in our red County are the blue dots, we cannot field candidates or muster enough pressure to activate change. I am sure if you put secession on the ballot, the blues would yawn and the reds would vote for it because they love policies that make no sense for their constituents.
